The main prize goes to ‘LOVE WORK MACHINE’!

For the third time, the City of Salzburg has presented its award for interactive, digital media design and media projects in an artistic context, as well as games with a creative, artistic or educational focus. The main prize goes to the ‘LOVE WORK MACHINE’ project – a collective experiential format that brings the mechanisms of artificial intelligence to life in a playful and artistic way.

AI as a collective playing field

“LOVE WORK MACHINE” impressed the expert jury with its extraordinary combination of play, performance and digital technology. The project creates an interactive experiential space in which participants directly experience, through group processes and decisions, how data, behaviour and power are algorithmically interwoven. The jury particularly emphasised that the project not only explains abstract concepts but also makes them immediately tangible and experiential – thereby stimulating critical thinking, discussion and self-reflection. “LOVE WORK MACHINE” exemplifies a contemporary form of interactive media art that conveys socially relevant themes in an accessible way.
The game “LOVE WORK MACHINE” was developed in collaboration between the team, ARGEkultur and AK Salzburg, and has so far been staged more than 20 times at ARGEkultur, attracting more than 1,200 participants.
